Poniżej prezentujemy dzisiejsze stanowisko naszego europosła w tej sprawie.
“Szanowni Państwo,
wczorajszy dzień był dla Polski wyjątkowy. Nasz premier Donald Tusk wygłosił mowę inaugurującą polskie przewodnictwo w Radzie Unii Europejskiej. Głosu udzielił mu Polak – Przewodniczący Parlamentu Europejskiego Jerzy Buzek. Dla narodu, który przez ponad pół wieku znajdował się pod sowiecką okupacją, a do Unii Europejskiej przystąpił zaledwie siedem lat temu, wczorajszy dzień był powodem do największej dumy.
Niestety, powaga tego dnia została zakłócona przez wypowiedź posła z Holandii Barrego Madlenera, który w swoim wystąpieniu stwierdził, że “nie chce rumuńskich żebraków i bezrobotnych Polaków w Holandii”.
W opinii wielu Polaków, Holandia jest jednym z najbardziej tolerancyjnych miejsc w Europie. Moi rodacy, szukając swojego miejsca na ziemi, często wybierają Królestwo Niderlandów jako miejsce, w którym chcieliby się osiedlić. Holandia swoje bogactwo zawdzięcza ciężkiej i sumiennej pracy swoich obywateli, ale również temu, że w czasie II Wojny Światowej nie była wyzwalana spod nazistowskiej okupacji przez sowieckie czołgi. Wcześniej do wielu holenderskich miast dotarli polscy żołnierze generała Sosabowskiego oraz generała Maczka.
Być może Pan Barry Madlener nie wie, że na 47 cmentarzach w Holandii pochowanych są setki polskich żołnierzy, którzy oddali życie za wolność jego ojczyzny. W dowód wdzięczności w 1990 roku, na wniosek ponad 40 tys. mieszkańców wyzwolonej przez Polaków Bredy, przyznano honorowe obywatelstwo Królestwa Holandii generałowi Maczkowi, a generała Sosabowskiego królowa Beatrix uhonorowała Medalem Brązowego Lwa.
Głęboko wierzę, że postawa prezentowana przez posła Madlenera jest w Holandii marginalna i nie będzie miała wpływu na doskonałe relacje pomiędzy naszymi narodami.

“Dear Colleagaues,
Yesterday was a very special day for Poland. Our Prime Minister Mr. Donald Tusk gave a speech inaugurating the Polish presidency of the European Union. The floor was given to him by our Polish – Chairman of the European Parliament Mr. Jerzy Buzek. For a nation that for over half a century was under Soviet occupation, and only joined the European Union seven years ago, yesterday served as a great day of pride for all Poles.
Unfortunately, the seriousness of the day was interrupted by a statement made by the MEP from the Netherlands, Mr. Barry Madlener, who in his speech stated that he “does not want Romanian beggars and unemployed Poles in the Netherlands.”
In the view of many Poles, the Netherlands is one of the most tolerant places in Europe. My compatriots seeking their place in the world often choose the Netherlands as a place where they would like to settle. The Netherlands owes its wealth to not only the hard work and diligent spirit of its citizens, but also to the fact that during World War II the Netherlands was not released from Nazi occupation by Soviet tanks, but rather by Polish solders under the command of General Sosabowski and General Maczek.
Perhaps Mr. Barry Madlener does not know that in 47 cemeteries in the Netherlands there lay to rest hundreds of Polish soldiers who gave their lives for the freedom of his homeland. To show their gratitude, in 1990 at the request of more than 40 thousand who had been liberated by the Polish, the citizens of Breda awarded honorary citizenship of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to General Maczkek and Queen Beatrix honored General Sosabowski Medal of the Bronze Lion.
I firmly believe that the attitude presented by Mr Madlener is marginal in the Netherlands and will not affect the excellent relations between our nations.

I feel ashamed of my country. This opinion is obviously not shared by the dutch majority.

I do fully agree on your reaction on what mr Madlener, Dutch member of the Party for Freedom (PVV) said, that he does ‘ not want Romanian beggars and unemployed Poles in the Netherlands.”
I’m afraid that both the content and tone of his speech is a light example of the political behavour of this political party. In name of the freedom of speech (constitutional right) this party presents itself as an expert in spreading verbal disqualifications intolerance, hostility against citizens who are different.
I’m glad that you react and protest on this statements and I hope that you and other MEP will struggle against this party. This statement of Madlener is just a begin………and they do’not care any reaction, as you will soon notice. They just do’nt care

Meiner meinung nach hatt der im und nach dem krieg geleistete hilfe von Polnische soldaten ÜBERHAUPT nichts zu tun mitt dem unwille der Niederlande um arbeidsloze en alcohol abhángige Polen mitt niederländische steuergelden am trinken zu halten..Leuten,wo sie auch immer herkommen…die sich selber nicht ernähren können haben in den Niederlanden NICHTS zu suchen.
Ausserdem möchte ich noch hinzufügen dass ik kein freund von de EU in der heutige zusammensetzung und regelgebung bin…

To co wczoraj uslyszalam w telewizji bardzo mnie zdenerwowalo.Ja sama mieszkam w Holandii od 11 lat i wiem co reprezentuje partia Pvv. Pracuje uczciwie, place podatki i oczekuje w zamian Godnej emerytury. Nie moze byc tak, ze Polacy sa dobrzy do placenia podatkow, wydawania pieniedzy w sklepach itp.a kiedy podwinie sie im noga i straca prace nie moga profitowac z pomocy oferowanej przez panstwo. Jestesmy jedna Europa i chcialabym byc traktowana jako jej pelnoprawny obywatel. Mam nadzieje, ze dzieki ludziom takim jak Pan to sie zmieni.
